Why Deadheading Makes All the Difference

Let’s talk about deadheading. It might not sound glamorous, but it’s one of the best things you can do to keep your garden looking lovely all summer long.

A quick snip here and there really does encourage more flowers to come through – and who doesn’t want that?

In this video, I’m out in the plant area with a Scabious – such a pretty one, and a perfect example of how a little deadheading can go a long way. I show you the difference between just picking off the flower from the top, and removing the whole stem down at the base.

Taking the whole stalk out keeps the plant tidier, helps it focus on growing new blooms, and stops it wasting energy on old flowers.

If you’ve ever wondered whether deadheading really makes a difference– the answer is yes. It keeps your plants looking their best, and it gives them a lovely boost to keep flowering right through the season.

Have a little watch of the video and see the difference for yourself!

See you soon.
