Birds & Berries

Hello everyone, it’s Sue here!

If you’ve been out in the garden lately, you’ll have noticed the birds are busy looking for food, and one of the nicest ways to help them is by planting shrubs and trees that produce berries. They not only feed the birds through the colder months but also bring lovely colour and life to the garden when everything else is starting to fade.

I’ve been out in the Plant Area this week having a look at what’s looking great at the moment — things like viburnum davidii, pyracantha, hypericum, callicarpa, and crabapple (malus). They’re all absolutely full of berries right now, and the birds will really thank you for them later in the season!

There are plenty more berrying plants to see too, so if you’d like a bit of inspiration, do pop in and have a wander round.

Watch my video below to see some of the plants I’ve been looking at this week — they’re all looking fantastic!

And don’t forget, we’ve also got a great range of bird feeds, feeders, baths and houses in the garden care area, so you can keep your feathered friends happy and well-fed right through the winter.

Hope to see you soon,
Sue
